ABOUT US

Irene

My passion for dogs has been ingrained within me since forever. Growing up alongside a Golden Retriever and a Terrier, dogs have consistently served as both a constant presence and an evolving passion in my life. It was after completing my Bachelor’s degree and meeting Samantha that I made the conscious decision to make my passion for dogs the central focus of my life’s goals. Each day brings new lessons and I am always willing to learn from them, and the harmonious coexistence within my pack serves as a profound source of inspiration and enlightenment.

Samantha

Growing up surrounded by animals, with a beloved family dog by my side, my passion for the dog world came from an early age. However, my life aspirations didn’t allow me at first to pursue the dream of having a dog of my own. Also, I knew I wanted to wait for the perfect moment – a time when I could fully dedicate myself to a pup, providing them with the love and attention they deserve.

Following my meeting with Irene, I seized the opportunity to follow my passion for dog care. Together, we embarked on the journey of bringing Pawffice to life. While initially self-taught in the field of dog care, I am constantly seeking to refine my techniques and deepen my understanding of canine behaviour and their well-being. Every day brings a new lesson.

Who We Are

How the idea came together

Pawffice is the realisation of a vision to create a safe haven for pups in Lausanne. Years of caring for dogs as a hobby showed us the immense benefits of providing them with a second home filled with love and care. Combined with our passion for their well-being, this inspired the creation of Pawffice.

The idea was to create a space where furry guests could not only feel safe and comfortable but also forge meaningful connections – both with their fellow doggies and with our dedicated caretakers. We believe in fostering an environment where these special bonds can flourish, enriching the lives of all involved.

By keeping our groups small, we allow the individuality of each pup to shine through, fostering a healthy and balanced pack dynamic. This intimate setting not only encourages strong bonds between our furry guests and caretakers but also cultivates a sense of belonging and security.

Established and stable guidelines minimise stress and uncertainty for both dogs and their care-takers. That is one of the reasons why, when integrating new members, the transition into the pack is gradual and carefully managed. At Pawffice, we're dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every pup can thrive and feel like part of the family.

Benefits and our philosophy

Our focus being to create a harmonious environment, the composition of the group is conscientiously thought through. Rather than leaving it to chance, the pairing of our guests is reflected in advance, following an initial meeting with the owner and a trial period in order to ensure compatibility and mutual benefit.

We bring together individuals who can mutually benefit from each other, so that they are able to fully enjoy their day without unnecessary stress. Each member of the pack is already familiar with one another, ensuring compatibility in terms of personality and mutual respect for each other's boundaries. This harmonious setup allows for clear roles and smooth communication within the group.

While we try to accommodate all, some individuals may not be accepted on a certain day to maintain the serenity and balanced coexistence of all guests. By preventing incidents, stress, and unpleasant behaviours that may arise from incompatible personalities, we prioritise the well-being of our furry friends and strive for a peaceful environment. It's important to recognise that, much like humans, dogs have their own preferences and may not always mesh well with every personality they encounter.

Why is it important for the singular dog?

They say "living a dog's life," but really, what a life a dog can live!

Understanding that each dog is unique, with their own set of physical and mental needs, is the cornerstone of our approach. We recognize that sometimes these needs may clash with our own busy schedules, but that doesn't diminish their importance. After all, a dog is simply being a dog, and it's our responsibility to honour and accommodate their natural instincts and behaviours.

At the heart of our philosophy lies a profound respect for the individuality of each dog, with the central concept of respect that extends in two directions: from humans to dogs and from dogs to humans.

In nurturing a healthy relationship between humans and dogs, and fostering clear and consistent communication among our canine companions, we reject the notion of dominance and control. Instead, we see ourselves as guides, navigating this journey together with mutual trust and understanding.

In our doggy day care, coexistence is more than just a goal—it's a way of life. We believe in striking a balance between play and relaxation, and in bringing dogs of all sizes and breeds together to learn from one another. Through shared experiences and quality time spent together, we strengthen the bond between humans and dogs, making each day special.
